My little guy turns 8 months today! Wow, how time flies. He creeps, sneaks, crawls, and cruises all day long… Raphael is often off to as many corners of the house as he can reach. It’s hilarious and amusing seeing him working so hard to get to his ideal destination and once he arrives he plays like a complete maniac. He has become quite the adventurer.
Since nowadays He is amused by everything but his toys, I have to constantly say the dreaded word “No”, which I am sure he already understands because when he gets close to a new unknown areas or object he stays extremely quiet. Such a sneaky boy! Haha and if he hears me say “Raphael, no!” he just looks at me and stops… for a few seconds and then continues to play, as if I changed my mind haha..
One thing I have started to do is to fill a basket with random, baby-safe household objects – like a wooden spoon, whisk, oven glove, plastic cups. I put it on the floor near Raphael and he instantly goes explorer-mode! He studies, feels, but most importantly, bites and tastes everything!
Ah! There is so much to tell – 8 months is truly an exciting age!
He loves to bounce, jump, hold on to something steady and stand up by himself. He loves music and to dance to it. He often like to reach to anything that might look colorful, new, or just reachable… He is chatting like no other – He no longer cries when he wakes up in the morning, now he sits up and starts talking to his little elephant or just talks to himself… Super adorable! He is also saying ma-ma!! He puts his hands on me or up when he wants me to carry him or when he is hungry, He gives me the “fake cry” and the puppy eyes when he gets bored or when he is tired of crawling. He has become the biggest and cutest flirt, he giggles and giggles non-stop. He enjoys getting out of the house and he behaves incredibly when we go out to places. Apparently his dad got to him about the whole baseball thing and Raphael now loves to play with bats and a baseballs. He can be a very independent baby but once he needs me, everybody is aware of it haha… Especially when a balls keeps escaping him. He loves to eat, although he prefers to eat actual food. He is not a fan of the mixed and blended stuff. He loves beans, rice, pasta, avocado, cheese… He likes it all, except for peas… He dislikes does very much so. He used to be a huge cuddler but now he prefers to play and play and play with us. He only likes to cuddle right before his naps, bed time, and right after waking up – I can think I can live with that amount of cuddling, I’ll make sure it stays like that until he’s about 8 or 9 years old haha. He started teething but we are part of the few lucky ones, because he is a great teether. He doesn’t fuss much, no fever, no major discomfort… Just a lot of biting going on. I still give him extra love because I am his mom and that’s what moms do. He has his napping schedule down… and I am also happy to announce he is sleeping through the night! Woohoo!
