I always want to go to different places and enjoy new little adventures with my family. We are lucky enough to live in an area that is full of history! I wanted to take advantage of the beautiful weather and I did some research. I came across Mount Vernon, which is George Washington’s house! I had already visited it before but it would be a first for my fiance and my son, so I thought! let’s go and lets have fun!!! Plus I knew the pictures would be stunning.
As always a selfie was a must!
So here we are, the three of us taking a selfie with George Washington’s house in the background… Who would have thought this house would see so many things, including selfies haha
It is truly amazing to step on the same ground that George Washington stepped on! My fiance was as happy as a little kid on a candy store. He loves history and this was the perfect family outing. My son though, had no idea where he was, or the importance behind the house, the backyard, the Washington’s vehicles, the tombs… Yet he had a blast, he was walking/running like he knew the place upside down haha.
While Raphael was running around like he owned the place, I was following with the camera… and Daddy, well, he was controlling this crazy guy from getting into trouble…
By the way, taking about amazing, if you are eyeing my Fiance’s watch, it’s a JORD Wood Watch – Dover Koa & Black. After the amazing proposal this guy pulled off, he deserved a little gift himself! He is a major watch fan so this JORD Wood Watch was the perfect gift for him. When he first saw the watch he thought it would be heavy, but he was pleasantly surprise of how light the watch actually is. A lot of guys came up to him to ask him if it was real wood and asked him where he got it from.. Haha, and there I was thinking, maybe I need a JORD watch to match him, and my ring haha..
My son was memorized by all the tall trees surrounding George Washington’s house. He wanted to touch every single leaf. Thankfully, daddy was there to lift him up and get Raphael closer to the trees. If it was up to Raphael, looking up at the tress would have been more than enough, but Daddy wanted to continue discovering more history so that’s what we did…
I love the backyard and the uninterrupted view of the Potomac River
It was really a great weekend! Raphael enjoyed to the fullest, my fiance did as well, and he was super excited to show off his new watch! As far as myself, all I need is to be around these two guys, just watching them together melts my heart.. It can’t get any better than this…
