This time of the year isn’t only filled with family, laughter, food and love. It is also filled with colds and germs, that is why you have to be prepared for when you start getting those unwanted feelings.
If you treat your cold or flu symptoms in time you might be able to not get sick 100%. Which as moms, we know that being sick doesn’t mean the kids will be more calm or quiet. Therefore, we can not risk feeling yucky and taking care of our sweet little ones at the same time.
Since I was little, my mom would prepare me a hot tea with honey and lime when I started getting sick, and it would always make me feel better so almost instantly, that is my first move when I am feel I might of caught a cold.
My Go-To teas are Bigelow Teas. They have an amazing taste and you can definitively taste the freshness. Such a great quality teas. I particularly love the flavor – Lemon Ginger for when I am not feeling so great.
I normally buy a few boxes when I go to Walmart. I like staking them up at home just to be ready. So you need to make sure Bigelow Teas are on your grocery list.

Tea – Although Tea does not cure illnesses or make colds go away, when you’re sick, tea can help provide warmth and comfort. A cup of hot tea soothes the throat and definitively brings warmth to the body on those chilly winter days. It can also promote much needed relaxation.
Start drinking water – Drink more fluids.
Honey – Honey boosts the immune system!! so have one to two tablespoons straight from the jar or stirred into tea.
Use lemons – Lemon juice contains high levels of vitamin C. By reducing the amount of phlegm, you may be able to prevent the virus from settling in and causing a long-lasting infection. Squeeze a lemon wedge into your tea you can also enjoy tea that combines lemon and honey for an even stronger benefit.
Ginger – Ginger promotes healthy sweating, which can help boost your immune system at the start of a cold.
Chicken soup – Oh the good old Chicken soup.
Skip work if you can – Your body can fight off the virus better if you’re well-rested.
Keep your nose clean – Saline nasal drops and sprays.
Humidifier – Cold viruses are happiest in dry conditions, which is one reason colds are more common in winter so Moisten the air.
